Weekend Round Up

Last weekend saw the final two Crediton Youth FC sides return to action after the lifting of Covid restrictions. Both the U11 Vipers and the U16 Girls saw their return to action prolonged due to fixtures being cancelled.

The U11 Vipers eventually went down 4-1 to Okehampton with Seb Roche getting the consolation goal.

Despite at times dominating their game against Newton Fire, the U16 girls fell away towards the end of the game and late goals saw them go down 3-0.

Performance of the day on Saturday went to the U7’s playing their first home fixtures. Holsworthy Youth brought along four sides and an entraining morning of football followed, with plenty of Crediton victories.

The U14’s hosted Moors Youth and missed chances saw them defeated 2-1. Ben Harvey getting the Crediton goal with a fine header.

Fairing much better were the U13’s away at Lympstone. Doubles from Ben Betts, Will Cridge and Scott Hartrey, and singles from Joe Bridgeman, Jack Brimilcombe and Alex Dredge saw them come away with a 9-1 victory.

Another fine performance from the U12’s produced a 2-0 home win over Culm Sampford. Zach Mildon getting the goals.

Crediton Youth U10 girls entertained a newly formed Holsworthy Girls side. Gracie Clements, Alannah Morgan, Lexi Mullen and Thea Oakley were amongst the goal scorers in a Crediton win.

The U12 Girls lost a seven goal thriller by the odd goal to Torquay United Yellows. Goals from Chloe Curtis, Ruby Turner and an own goal just not enough on the day.

But the U14 girls did get revenge on Torquay United with a 5-1 victory. Jess Cockayne with a hatrick and goals from Beth Ebdy and Hannah Lindsey capped a fine team performance.
